How To Make Apple and Honey Challah Recipe
This is a sweet twisted bread with chunks of soft apple and a touch of honey.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup peeled, chopped apples
Instructions

In a large bowl, combine yeast and warm water. Let sit for 5 minutes.

Add olive oil, beaten eggs, honey, and salt to the bowl and whisk together.

Add flour to the bowl, mixing well until dough comes together.

Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes.

Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Punch down dough and knead in chopped apples.

Divide dough into 3 equal parts and roll into long ropes.

Braid ropes and place on a greased baking sheet.

Cover dough with a towel and let rise for 30 minutes.

Brush top of bread with beaten egg and bake for 35 minutes or until golden brown.
