How To Make Matcha Mochi
Soft, chewy and lightly sweetened Japanese rice cake infused with the rich flavor of matcha.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 cup glutinous rice flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp matcha powder
- 2/3 cup water
- Cornstarch for dusting
Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine glutinous rice flour, sugar, baking powder, and matcha powder.

Add water and stir until well mixed.

Pour the mixture into a microwavable dish and cover with a lid or plastic wrap. Microwave on high for 3 minutes.

Remove from the microwave and stir the mixture until well combined. Cover again and microwave on high for another 2 minutes.

Remove from the microwave and let cool for a few minutes until it is easy to handle.

Dust a cutting board or flat surface with cornstarch and transfer the mochi to the surface. Cut the mochi into bite-sized pieces.

Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
