Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 15 minutes
Total: 30 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sake
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Sesame seeds and green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sake, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sugar. Mix well.

  2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight in the refrigerator.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and cornstarch.

  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or skillet to about 350°F (175°C).

  5. Dredge the marinated chicken pieces in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.

  6. Carefully place the chicken pieces in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

  7. Transfer the fried chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  8. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish.

  9. Serve hot and enjoy!
