Ingredients
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
-
Boil the potatoes in a large pot of water until they are fork-tender, about 15 minutes. Drain the potatoes and let them cool slightly.
-
In a large mixing bowl, mash the potatoes until they are smooth.
-
Add the flour, bread crumbs, eggs, salt, and nutmeg to the mashed potatoes and mix until well combined.
-
Divide the potato mixture into 8 equal portions and shape them into round dumplings.
-
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Carefully drop the dumplings into the boiling water and cook for about 10 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
-
Remove the dumplings from the water with a slotted spoon and serve hot as a side dish with your favorite main course.
