How To Make Chicken Stock

Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken, chopped into pieces
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 onion, peeled and quartered
- 4 cloves of garlic, crushed
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon peppercorns
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 8 cups water
Instructions

In a large pot, combine the chicken, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, bay leaf, peppercorns, salt, and water.

Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for 3 hours.

Skim off any impurities that float to the surface during the cooking process.

After 3 hours, remove the pot from the heat and strain the stock through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean container.

Discard the solids and let the stock cool completely before refrigerating or using in recipes.
