How To Make Chicken Balti

Ingredients
- 500g chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 tbsp Balti spice blend
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish
Instructions

Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and cook until golden brown.

Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan and sauté for another minute.

Add the chicken pieces to the pan and cook until they are lightly browned on all sides.

In a small bowl, mix together the Balti spice blend, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and paprika. Sprinkle this mixture over the chicken and stir to coat evenly.

Add the chopped tomatoes to the pan and stir well. Cook for 5 minutes, until the tomatoes start to break down and release their juices.

Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.

Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh cilantro.

Serve hot with naan bread or steamed rice.
