Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup milk
- 1 apple, peeled, cored, and chopped
- 1/2 cup sultanas
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
- Additional milk, for serving
- Sliced almonds or chopped walnuts, for garnish
Instructions

In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Stir in the oats and reduce the heat to low. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the milk, chopped apple, sultanas, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt to the saucepan. Cook for an additional 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the porridge reaches your desired consistency.

Remove from heat and let the porridge rest for a few minutes.

Serve the porridge hot, drizzled with additional milk and topped with sliced almonds or chopped walnuts.
