Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup water
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9-inch cake pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, beat together sourdough starter, vegetable oil, and granulated sugar until well combined.

Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until mixture becomes smooth.

Fold in the flour mixture and water into the sourdough mixture, alternating between the dry ingredients and water until well combined.

Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
