How To Make Sourdough Bagels
Delicious homemade bagels made with sourdough starter for a tangy twist!
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 cup of active sourdough starter
- 1 tbsp of honey
- 1 tsp of salt
- 3 cups of bread flour
- 2 tbsp of baking soda
- 1 egg
- Everything bagel seasoning
Instructions

Mix starter, honey, and salt in a large bowl.

Gradually add flour and mix until dough forms.

Knead dough for 10 minutes and divide into 8 equal parts.

Roll each part into a ball and poke a hole with your finger in the center to form a bagel shape.

Cover and let rise for 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 425°F and bring a large pot of water to boil with baking soda.

Boil each bagel for 1-2 minutes on each side and place on a greased baking sheet.

Beat egg and brush onto each bagel, then sprinkle everything bagel seasoning on top.

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve warm with cream cheese or butter.
