Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
-
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the melted butter and milk, and stir until a dough forms.
-
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle approximately 12×8 inches.
-
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough, then sprinkle the sugar-cinnamon mixture over the butter.
-
Starting from the long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log. Cut the log into 1-inch thick slices.
-
Place the cinnamon bun slices into the prepared baking pan, cut side up. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
-
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, softened butter, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
-
Remove the cinnamon buns from the oven and let them cool slightly. Drizzle the glaze over the warm buns.
-
Serve the ooey-gooey cinnamon buns warm and enjoy!
