Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup warm milk
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
Instructions
-
In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm milk and sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, yogurt, and melted butter. Mix well to form a soft dough.
-
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
-
Preheat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat.
-
Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin oval or round shape.
-
Place the rolled naan on the preheated pan and cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbles start to form. Flip the naan and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
-
Remove from the pan and brush with melted butter.
-
Serve hot with your favorite curry or dip.
