Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup milk, warmed
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup dried currants
- For the spiced honey butter glaze:
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.

Add the warmed milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a clean kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and knead in the cinnamon, nutmeg, raisins, and dried currants.

Shape the dough into a ring and place it on a greased baking sheet.

Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Bake the bun ring for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

While the bun ring is baking, prepare the spiced honey butter glaze. In a small bowl, mix together softened butter, honey, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Remove the bun ring from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Brush the spiced honey butter glaze over the top of the bun ring.

Slice and serve warm. Enjoy!
