A delicious bread with the sweet taste of figs and crunchy walnuts.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped dried figs
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup buttermilk
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In another bowl, whisk sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Stir in figs and walnuts.

Gradually stir in the flour mixture and buttermilk until just combined.

Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.

Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
