Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 shallot, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 small carrot, julienned
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon fish sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/4 cup scallions, chopped
Instructions

In a wok or large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over high heat.

Add the minced garlic and sliced shallot, and stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.

Add the beef slices and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through.

Add the sliced bell peppers and julienned carrot, and stir-fry for another 2 minutes until vegetables are slightly tender.

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, fish sauce, and black pepper.

Pour the sauce mixture into the wok and toss everything together until well coated.

Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce has thickened slightly and coats the beef and vegetables.

Remove from heat and stir in the fresh Thai basil leaves, chopped cilantro, and scallions.

Serve the Thai beef stir-fry hot over steamed jasmine rice or noodles.
