Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) sirloin steak, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup (240ml) beef stock
- 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
- 4 oz (115g) blue cheese, crumbled
- 2 tbsp (30ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp (30ml) olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Store-bought pie crust
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the diced steak and cook until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, add the onion and garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent.
-
Add the beef stock, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper to the skillet. Stir well and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
-
Add the cooked steak back into the skillet and stir in the crumbled blue cheese. Cook for another 2 minutes until the cheese has melted.
-
Line a pie dish with the store-bought pie crust. Pour the steak and blue cheese mixture into the crust.
-
Cover the pie with a second pie crust, sealing the edges. Cut a few slits on top to allow steam to escape.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
-
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
