Ingredients
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 lb beef, cut into small chunks
- 2 onions, sliced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tsp ginger, grated
- 2 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 4 cups beef broth
- Salt to taste
- Oil for cooking
Instructions

Rinse the basmati rice under cold water and soak for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.

In a large pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until golden brown.

Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pot. Cook for another minute until fragrant.

Add the beef chunks to the pot and cook until browned on all sides.

Stir in the cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, cinnamon powder, and chili powder. Cook for 2 minutes.

Add the soaked and drained rice to the pot and mix well with the beef and spices.

Pour in the beef broth and season with salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.

Cover the pot and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.

Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
