Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 carrots, finely chopped
- 2 celery stalks, finely chopped
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 2 tsp dried basil
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

In a large pot, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Add the onion, carrots, celery, and garlic to the pot. Cook for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, red wine, dried basil, dried oregano, sugar, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.

Reduce heat to low and let the ragu simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

Serve the rich ragu over your favorite pasta and garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
