Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until cooked through. Drain any excess fat.

  3. Add the diced onion, carrots, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for about 5 minutes, until the vegetables start to soften.

  4. Stir in the frozen peas, tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for another 5 minutes.

  5. Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish. Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the top.

  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden and the filling is bubbling.

  7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
