- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 4 shallots, thinly sliced
- 1 cup of red wine
- 1 cup of beef broth
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions

Season the onglet steak with salt and black pepper on both sides.

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Add the steak to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if desired.
-
Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes.
-
In the same skillet, add the sliced shallots and cook until they are softened and lightly browned.
-
Pour in the red wine and beef broth, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
-
Bring the mixture to a boil and let it simmer until the liquid has reduced by half.
-
Stir in the butter until melted and the sauce has thickened.
-
Slice the rested steak and serve it with the red wine shallot sauce.
