How To Make Crispy Chilli Beef

Ingredients

  • 500g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red chili, thinly sliced
  • 1 green chili, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Toss the beef slices in the mixture until well coated.

  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the beef slices and cook until crispy and browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.

  3. In the same pan, add the minced garlic and sliced chilies. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  4. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and beef broth. Pour the sauce into the pan with the garlic and chilies. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 2 minutes.

  5. Add the crispy beef slices back into the pan and toss to coat them in the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.

  6. Drizzle the sesame oil over the beef and stir to combine. Remove from heat.

  7. Serve the crispy chilli beef over steamed rice or noodles, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
